Since opening our doors in 1974, Country Day School has always strived to provide high quality education that supports our mission to nurture, inspire and prepare children to flourish globally. Over the years this ambitious mission has driven expanded programs including our internationally recognized World School program, nationally recognized STEM and performing arts programs, our Victory Academy for students with learning differences, plus campus expansions in Largo & Indian Rocks Beach. Now we continue that growth by adding Tampa’s leading Montessori school to continue evolving how we deliver on our mission with cutting-edge technology and expanded opportunities for families across Tampa Bay.
Why Montessori House Day School?
Montessori House Day School was established in 1970 and was the first Montessori school to open in Tampa. It is the only school in Tampa, and one of few in the state, accredited by the American Montessori Society — the highest level of accreditation available for Montessori schools. MHDS’s rich history and dedication to premier Montessori education is a natural fit for the CDS family, and we also recognized an opportunity to enhance its offerings with our successful language programs, robust digital infrastructure and comprehensive safety protocols. We believe blending the strengths of the Country Day Schools curriculum, systems, and community with the long-established educational excellence at Montessori House Day School will be a win for families across Tampa Bay.

We are so grateful to have a supportive community that encourages our growth and recognizes the benefits for all that come from it. We believe bringing other campuses under the CDS umbrella will keep us looking to the future with fresh ideas, perspectives, and resources, and will allow every student in the Country Day School family to receive the highest quality education.
