Are artists born or bred? We think both! The mission of Country Day School is to provide students of the visual, literary, performing, and media arts with an intensive learning experience conducted by distinguished arts professionals, designed to enhance the students' artistic skills and to develop their understanding as individuals of their potential for growth as creative artists.
It is our expectation that some Country Day School graduates will become professional artists. Others will go on to apply their creative skills in other professions. Bottom line, we want to broaden our students' understanding of their creative potentials, regardless of their eventual life paths.
Here at Country Day School, we are fortunate to have professional artists and performers teaching our students every day, and we understand the importance of showing our young performers the person behind the profession! That is why we created our Visiting Artists Program. This program is designed to increase and highlight the arts in education by bringing the very best in the performing arts to our school. For students in kindergarten through middle school, the Visiting Artists Program provides a wide range of dancers, musicians, and actors in performances, lectures/ demonstrations, discussions, and unique "hands-on" workshops.
If you are an artist who would like to visit our campus, please contact Ms. Alison Burns at firstname.lastname@example.org.
