Upper School Information
The Parent Student Handbook will be reviewed and sent home with your student at school. Below are a couple of highlites that are important for the first day of school:
What to bring to school:
- A 2GB USB or a 4GB USB flash drive, Country Day School will provide all additional required school supplies recommended by the teachers.
- Backpacks: Medium to large size back pack. Roll back packs are not necessary, however if you have already purchased one you may use it.
- Lunch: Hot lunch is available for order every full school day. You can view the menu online at www.countrydaylargo.com. New families can set up an account from our website. Lunches brought from home must be in an insulated lunch box with a cold pack. Please include nutritional items and a drink. (Candy is not allowed in the classroom.)
Dress Code: 1st-8th grade students: please note the change in uniform bottoms:
Bottoms
- Bottoms for boys consist of shorts and long pants, in khaki. For the 2011-2012 school year, we no longer offer navy as an option.
- Girls can choose from shorts, long pants, capri pants, skorts, skirts and culottes, in khaki.
- Country Day uniforms choices are clearly marked in the Allen’s store. Students must wear their school uniform and closed toed shoes, please no sandals or Crocs.
Tops
- 1st thru 8th graders may wear yellow, white, blue and green polo shirts. The shirts are embroidered with the tree logo and the school name. The BLACK polo is for Middle School students ONLY.
Arrival & Dismissal
- Arrival: 8:15 - 8:30am at the playground gate. A teacher will greet your child at your vehicle.
- Dismissal: 3:30 - 3:45pm at the playground gate. Teachers will escort the student to your vehicle. Please do not leave your vehicle in the arrival or dismissal lines.
- Before Care: Starts at 7:00am
- Study Hall: 4:00pm - 5:00pm
- After Care: 5:00pm - 6:00pm
Allergies: We are a Nut Free School. There is NO exception. We have children who are severely allergic to peanuts, tree nuts and their by-products.
Snack: We will have a 20 minute break in the morning for a snack and outdoor play. Please send a healthy snack with your child or the snack locker will be open for purchases.
