We want to make your child feel extra special on their Birthday. In an effort to support the nationwide movement to promote healthier eating in our children, we now have a new policy in effect immediately:
- Healthy snacks only. Please do not bring in cakes, donuts, cookies or cupcakes
- Suggested items include; bagels and cream cheese, croissants and jelly, fruit and cheese, vegetables and dip.
- Keep our school NUT FREE. Check the labels of items you bring in.
- Please give us at least a one day notice (to prevent overlap). Email your student's homeroom teacher to confirm your day and get a head count.
- You may bring snack for your student's class (the 7th & 8th grade have combined in the past).
- You student will serve their snack at break time (approx. 10:20am)
- If your child has a weekend birthday please celebrate on Friday or Monday.
The students are generally thrilled to have any type of food at break time! Do not feel pressured to bring in a 'cool' snack. This program is entirely voluntary and you only need to bring in snack if your child wants to. We really feel it is in the best interest of the students to eliminate as much sugar as possible so that they can get the most out of their morning classes. Water is always available, drinks are not necessary.
Thanks!
