Dear Fourth Grade Students,
Below is the 2011 Country Day School summer reading assignment. We believe
it will be both educational and enjoyable.
This assignment serves three purposes. First, it will ensure that you are continuing
to read during your summer vacation which will keep your reading skills fresh.
Second, it will help you to become a reflective reader which means that as you read
the book, you will think a lot about it and will figure out the lessons it teaches.
Finally, this assignment will give you a head start on accumulating Accelerated
Reader points for next year. When you return to school, you will be able to take a
test on the books you read and you can begin collecting points for the reading that
you do.
The activities we want you to complete are listed on the attached sheets. They
need to be completed during the summer and brought to school on the first day you
return. We hope you have fun doing these activities, and we can’t wait to see your
original creations.
If you have any questions about the assignments, please contact Mrs. LeVine at
jlevine @countrydaylargo.com or Mrs. Piper at apiper@countrydaylargo.com.
Happy reading,
Mrs. LeVine and Mrs. Piper
