Country Day Stables Lesson Program
At Country Day Stables, riding students are given the opportunity to master the basics of riding. Students learn to become confident and independent riders. Lessons are available for the beginner through the advanced rider. We provide dependable schooling horses, and instruction is available in both English & Western Horsemanship.
For beginners, no prior horse experience is necessary. Introduce your child to the joy of horses in our safe and comfortable learning environment. Already know how to ride? Continue your horsemanship skills with intermediate to advanced lessons at Country Day Stables. Riding Lessons are designed for ages 6 and older. For students younger than 6, please inquire about options for age appropriate pony rides.
Lessons:
• All lessons are by appointment and may be scheduled one or more times weekly, Monday thru Saturday.
• Each lesson lasts thirty-plus minutes. A portion of the lesson may include un-mounted instruction. This is a valuable part of any lesson, designed to give the student confidence on and off the horse.
• All Riders MUST wear a helmet. The school has helmets available for use for beginners until a personal helmet is purchased (required for students that ride regularly).
• Closed-toe boots and shoes with a small heal are required. Jeans, jods or breeches are appropriate riding wear. Shorts are discouraged.
• Parents are welcome to watch or students may be dropped off. (Please make sure we have a current phone number where you can be reached.)
• Your lesson time is reserved from week to week, unless you tell us otherwise.
• If you find that you are unable to make a lesson, please give us a call. This saves us from having a horse waiting unnecessarily. It is never too late to call.
• Feel free to call to check on weather related cancellations.
Fees:
• Group lessons are $25.00 each or $188.00 for a package of 8 lessons.
• Private lessons are $40.00 each or $300.00 for a package of 8 lessons.
• Package lessons are payable in advance. Individual lessons are payable at the time of the lesson. Package lessons must be used within 6 months of purchase. We regret that we cannot offer refunds.
• One time $5 registration fee for Equestrian Programs (waived for Country Day Students)
