Policies & Procedures
During inclement weather, programs are not canceled and activities may vary by day. In the event of severe weather, (hurricane, etc.) camp closing information will be broadcast on Bay News 9, Channel 10, WFLA 970AM, and posted on this website (http://www.countrydaylargo.com/camps).
It is important that you keep your child home if they have any unexplained rash, persistent cough, runny nose, fever or vomiting during the night. This policy is in the best interest of your child, as well as all of our campers.
Any medications that will need to be administered at camp require a signed permission slip with specific directions. Pinellas County Licensing requires that all medication MUST be handled through the office. Bring all medications to the office.  Do not leave medication in your child’s lunchbox or hand medication to camp leaders.

Discipline Policy
Any discipline administered in our school is, of course, non-corporal. When there is misconduct at the 2 year old to kindergarten level, the teacher goes to the child, kneels down to make and maintain eye contact, and talks to the child about proper behavior. Should misconduct continue, the teacher may need to use the “thinking chair”. This is any chair in the environment. The child is asked to sit and “think” about his behavior and how to improve. The chair faces the classroom, not a wall, so he/she can observe proper behavior. The child will spend approximately one minute for each year of the child’s age in the “thinking chair.”

At the elementary school level discipline by the camp personnel shall also be non-corporal in nature, with a preference for positive and constructive approaches where possible. At the discretion of the Camp Director, a student may be sent to the office for disciplinary action ranging from loss of privileges to expulsion.

Finally, should the misbehavior be such that we determine it creates a danger or a disruption to the other students, the parents would be asked to withdraw the child. Country Day School reserves the right to deny registration due to behavioral issues.

Office Hours
The office will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Please contact the office with any questions or concerns regarding your child.
